Socrates had said that, and that’s probably the only one thing I for sure about myself as well, and least of all I want to have any intellectual knowledge about God. Its always been hard to explain to anyone why I avoid using the word ‘God’ or saying anything even remotely religious or abstract as far as possible. Some have even mistaken me to be an aethist (for me aethism is just another set of opinions). But I don’t want to just end up becoming a kind of person Meister Eckhart had spoken about:
Some people want to see God with their eyes as they see a cow, and to love him as they love their cow – for the milk and cheese and profit it brings them. This is how it is with people who love God for the sake of outward wealth or inward comfort.
Recently came across a quote by Buddha printed at the bottom of a notebook:
Our theories of the eternal are as valuable as are
those which a chick which has not broken its way
through its shell might form of the outside world.
This came even closer to what was in my heart for which I’d so far been unable to find any words.
Of what value are my opinions and beliefs? Everything that I can rationalise are within the limits of my thinking process. My opinions would only serve as a hinderance! That’s why as far as God is concerned, I simply want to kill all my beliefs and join the murderer’s club!

PS: I hope to learn from my baby son to be innocent like him. An innocent man of course does not mean he to be naive and vulnerable, but more of never taking anything for granted but always learning as if the whole world is fresh and new!

Reading this piece by you reminded me of the great GBS. He had said: I’m an atheist and I thank God for it.
In fact, whether God exists or nor, God only knows but it is faith that matters the most. Faith need not necessarily mean superstition or weird rituals but an entity within that prompts one to question as well as seek solace. Ramakrishna Paramhamsa was almost an illiterate but he did possess philosophical wisdom of highest degree. Of course, his devotees led by Swami Vivekananda were Vedic scholars.
What I mean to say is element of divinity exists in one and all, more so among the tiny tots. Yes, if a lion roars before a tiny infant, I am sure he or she will giggle in the same manner when the mother cajoles her baby.
In a nutshell, we have to agree that faith is the most powerful five lettered English word in the world.
It is the driving force behind every socio-economic deed of humanity.
You may ask me as to whose son I am and promptly I will answer that I am the son of Ramachandra Panje. Likewise every other person attributes his or her links of parentage. Not meaning to offend any body or convey any vulgar element, how do I know that he is my father or for that matter how does ‘x’, ‘y° and ‘z’ know that he or she is the son or daughter of ‘a’, ‘b’ and ‘c’.
It is mere faith and nothing but faith and that very faith has been the stong bondage not only at home but in the entire society, at workplace, in social gatherings etc.
