the art of flying
This is from the venerable H2G2… This is excellent humor. And its applicable at a deeper level in many real contexts. You can recognize them, or sooner or later hopefully discover by yourself over time… 😉

total perspective vortex: video?!
I’ve mentioned earlier in one of the posts, that the first time I came across the Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy, it was just a very funny science fiction book that I read end to end – a laugh riot! Many years later, had chanced across it and read it again. This second read of this timeless book, I laughed again, but this time, the same books had an astonishing depth I’d never perceived before!
Scientist Stephen Hawkings says about the author Douglas Adams: “I have seldom met a more congenial spirit. Obviously I knew he would be funny. What I didn’t know was how deeply read he was in science. I should have guessed, for you can’t understand many of the jokes in Hitchhiker if you don’t know a lot of advanced science.”
Not just science, but a lot of his satire had striking descriptions of constructs in our metaphysical or social structure as well. For example, the total perspective vortex…

independence day – not just another holiday any more
This was a highlight in a mail from Today’s Kagga, which I feel is indeed true… Consider this movement for example…
The Design for Giving Challenge is a contest applicable for kids between 10 to 13.. Interview with school kids…
This video and movement reminds me of a really thought provoking movie…
A social studies teacher asks some tough questions in his first class: “What does the world expect of you?” Someone answers “Nothing” – yes absolutely correct, the world will get on without us! 🙂 And then he further questions that when the students are through with school after graduation and face the world, What if the world turns out to be a big disappointment?

romantic conversation, almost
He: “oh I really missed you, don’t know how I managed without you all these days”
She: “oh I thought about you a lot, but didn’t miss you at all this time”
She turns around and finds he was referring to his Nokia E71 mobile 🙄 😛

cleanliness is next to happiness
In our highly intellectual society, where we usually feel especially as we grow older and older, that “I’ve seen life”. Everything relevant is kind of figured out, or can be googled for 😉 Practically speaking, there’s not much more to learn that one wants to spare time for! So there’s barely any scope to in the first place acknowledge that indeed one’s mind does have a bit of pollution. To acknowledge this consciously takes a rare kind of honesty.
Important to note that nothing abstractly philosophical meant by ‘pollution’! Its simply a metaphor for distorted perspective of reality – a colored world-view… thinging!

common man in the mirror
Friday evening I started off on a bus journey for the long weekend as I’d applied for leave on Monday.
The bus was crowded and as I’d gotten on early, I was sitting down. A couple with a baby boy got on. Its somewhat tough carrying a kid in a crowded rattling swering bus. Being a bit tired/lazy and somewhat disinclined to offer my seat esp with a long journey ahead, I offered to hold the kid instead. The man offered me the kid who unhesitantly came to my arms. They family seemed to be manual laborers, with the baby having pretty dirty clothes and hair. I had nice clean clothes, but nevertheless I took him with an invisible reluctance. On the way I couldn’t help reflecting on the irony – the baby was so dirty outside, and so pure inside. And I was so clean outside, and so dirty and hypocritical inside! 🙄 😆 My work was clearly cut out for three days of silence before me.
