After seeing this website bangalorepothole – one might as well consider a PhD in potholology 😉 Seriously speaking, its pretty interesting and unexpectedly informative wrt potholes! But it does make one realise that some roads on Bangalore would make the moon’s surface look like a skating rink in comparison!

Its common among software engineers and I’ve been no major exception as well – to be perpetually pissed off for not having got a well-deserved hike or a promotion, esp as much as someone else got. leave phobia
One of the biggest differences I see in the work cultures of the east and the west are in taking leave – atleast a few days off from work. I’ve come across people in India who have worked for a decade or two at a stretch – and proudly proclaiming that they have not even taken a single day of leave, and have even received a medal for their service. While their dedication is of course to be appreciated, I doubt whether this is a really good thing.

Jain for a day

Yesterday evening Jigar was telling me that a week starting from today marks a special time for Jains and they’re involved in fasting.
A one day fast would be from yesterday night to tomorrow morning – only thing permitted would be hot water.
I don’t know what made me decide to try it as well, just for one day.
