how to master the art of non-violence?
Just wondering…
We can do a masters in so many specialised subjects nowadays. Technology is so advanced that anything and everything is possible. Througout my life, many times I’ve been regarded as highly intelligent/genius. But I’ve often speculated, and more and more strongly off late, that the world is already so full of intellectuals, what more value is there for me to add?
Among all the millions of intellectuals, how come there are so few who can claim a master’s degree in non-violence? This, the topic of this post is something that appeals more to my heart.
Non-violence is not a speculative philosophy or an ideal.
It is a delicate art. It requires real skill and intelligence to learn how to act non-violently (rather than just react) in the most provocative situations. It can be both extremely challenging as well where one is pushed to beyond one’s barriers, but can also be absolutely effortless, like the smile of a child.
It is different from diplomacy, in the sense that there is good deal more of integrity involved.
Pre-requisites for this course are courage, conviction, a good dose of pragmatism.
Its so easy, yet difficult because it seems to be more convenient to ignore.
The professor is Life itself – in all Its countless manifestations. So far has been giving me opportunities every day. Patiently waiting for me to learn – for how long, I don’t know.
