My first IQ test ever

Took an IQ test this morning after clicking on some ad in a web page – I’ve never ever taken one before. It took me a lot longer than I expected – hadn’t known there would be 50 questions! The results were very surprising. I’m not sure if the website, which promotes some educational courses, had made the questions overly simple – some day I would consider double checking by taking tests from other sources. One annoying thing was it made me register after the whole test, and before I could see the results which was kind of sneaky!

IQ Test

Result:
Your IQ score is 133

This number is based on a scientific formula that compares how many questions you answered correctly on the Classic IQ Test relative to others.

Your Intellectual Type is Precision Processor. This means you’re exceptionally good at discovering quick solutions to problems, especially ones that involve math or logic. You’re also resourceful and able to think on your feet. And that’s just some of what we know about you from your test results.

This was really very surprising but I wasn’t really sure what the number meant, so googled to find the following report.

IQ Scores: The Basics of IQ Score Interpretation

IQ Description % of Population
130+	Very superior	2.2%

Ahem… very flattering… but I must admit that I’m definitely not known to be the quick-witted brilliant man type except maybe once in a way. And I’m terribly slow at solving complicated logical puzzles which a lot of other people breeze through – but this test had only simple ones. But assuming just for fun that the score is atleast remotely accurate, maybe its a kind of reminder that its about time I make an effort to apply whatever intelligence is there to do something useful 😉 I think its good if we sometimes get reminded once in a way of our own strengths.

But I really liked the last line in the report, makes a lot of sense…

Remember that many elements besides IQ contribute to success and happiness.
