Gandhi's message in a mobile phone ad
Watch this beautiful award-winning ad, then (just so that you view it unbiased) scroll down for my comments…
It says,
Imagine the world like this…
If he could have communicated like this
Seems rather paradoxical that the music makes the words barely audible – perhaps thats what would’ve *really* happened “if he could’ve communicated” in our time heh heh 🙂 …but …thanks to google, here’s the text…
If you want to give a message, it must be a message of ‘Love’, it must be a message of ‘Truth’. I want to capture your hearts. Let your hearts clap in unison with what I’m saying, and I think, I shall have finished my work.
Then, the question “Did I believe in one world?”. How can I possibly do otherwise. Of course, I believe in one world.

hi sanjay,
having worked as an art director in an ad-agency for quite a while, the ad could have been better. first, the picturisation is poor. they ought to have shown indians too. more than anyone else, we have forgotten what the great man stood for. the guy dressed as gandhi walks too slowly in the beginning of the ad. gandhi walked very fast. next, the audio. as u have written, it is hardly audible. b/g music is very loud.
the ad would have looked more authentic if it was shown as black and white and not in this greenish shade.
agreed, the concept is good, but execution is poor.
nice observations Bellur, they make sense!

PORBANDAR, INDIA—Ushering in a new era of nuclear strength in the global theater, India dedicated the $1.6 billion Mohandas K. Gandhi Nuclear Testing Facility at the site of the famed Indian’s birthplace Monday. “Gandhi surely would have been proud,” said facility director Rajiv Pindar, setting off a ceremonial 25-megaton blast in honor of Gandhi. Visitors to the facility will be welcomed by an enormous bronze statue of Gandhi, who holds aloft an atom in one hand and a missile in the other.
