When someone is reading a book, I’ve this habit of borrowing for a second and flipping through it and returning it. In one such instance a few years ago, I’d come across a “serene prayer” of three lines. I was so impressed that I later on googled for the exact words and put them down…
I have observed that people studying/working together in any college/establishment, usually group together based on some criteria or the other… maybe caste (sometimes even sub-sub-caste) or language or region or habits (smoker/drinker) or maybe project, etc. This is perfectly fine and only natural; but the only problem is that in many cases, they are open…
Problem:
Western Ghat forests are getting destroyed by tribals or villagers. They are in an economically bad state. What do they do? They chop down trees and sell the timber. That gets them money for a bit more time.
Solutions….
A discussion thread on art and learning… of course there’s also a certain amount of science of human nature involved – whether a person can learn to something (in this case, draw) very well irrespective of whether he has talent or not.
This was about a person Derek Ogilvie called as a Baby Whisperer. The article was quite amazing really, about how the man (of Scottish origin) is able to communicate with infants!
We have so many programmes and workshops in the corporate world all over the place for anger management or stress management. People feel angry about so many issues and their work issues affect their home life or sometimes its the other way round! 😉 (“work is a place to get away from stressful home life”…
