reunion with an old friend
I am truly priviledged about how this little fellow had chosen us to take care of him. In a way, just to be wild and imaginative, I feel reunited with some great friend of the past life who has come to me again to teach many things!

On seeing him for the first time I was so grateful to so many many who have supported us and I wondered how some undeserved fellow like me was so privileged that I just sat there for a long while and wept    And these were tears of happiness that made me feel my heart was being whitewashed :) and I just silently prayed for whole world to share this happiness.
The sight of my wife with my son (name is still under r&d  ;) ) definitely reflects Suresh’s post that says… Whenever a woman becomes a mother, the circle is complete.

Recalling some lines from a beautiful song…
I hear babies cryin', I watch them grow They'll learn much more than I'll ever know And I think to myself, what a wonderful world Yes, I think to myself, what a wonderful world
I’ll definitely be re-looking at some really nice blogs on parenting, like Leonid Mamchenkov or Rambling with Bellur and one of my favorites because it comes the closest – a mother’s perspective is by Shruthi.
Looking forward to digesting the words of Kahlil Gibran going forward…
Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you, yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love but not your thoughts.
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.

congrats sanjay,
ee moment na aadaShTu enjaai maaDi. After your kid grows, his mischief will also be a treat to watch – but in a totally different sense.
Once again congrats 🙂

best wishes to the newborn.
thank you Arun… true these moments are priceless. hesaru innu r&d maaDthaaidivi 🙂
Thanks a lot kalyan!
It was a real pity that they had to take his blood for a test. But he turned out to be positive for jaundice, and right now he’s in phototherapy. It seems most kids get it soon after birth – they’d told me even before he was tested. Somehow had been hoping my son would be one of the exceptions but then after all he’s the son of a common man! He’s in the nursery in phototherapy for the time being.
sanju,
fantastic thoughts.
when i saw him the first time, he so much reminded me of narayan. take utmost care of the cute fellow. even narayan keeps remembering having seen his friend and tells “powder haakidru maguge.”
once again, congrats to you and all your fly. members!
regards

I cant wait to meet him.
oh… I wish too that he gets back to good health soon. On the good side, once it is over it is over. Btw.. this blog has turned to parenting too.
Suresh, great to read your first comment on this site!
Thanks chandra and srik, and thanks again Mohan 🙂
Kalyan – I had been reading some posts there recently and had just missed out the link, good thing you reminded, updated the post now.
Bellur it was really cool having my son meet his first friend already!
Finally discharged from the hospital – yaaaay!! 😀 We went to his mother’s home now, and was happily welcomed by his delighted cousins and aunts and uncles and grandparents (my wife’s side). I managed to sleep quite well at night though I can’t say the same for my wife and her mother, whom I could vaguely hear waking up every now and then. I returned to my own home today and will go back soon to take maximum advantage of the time my company’s been kind enough to grant me, before I get back to work.
My mother-in-law is from an Indian rural background but over the past few days since she stayed at the hospital, I spent a lot of time in long conversations with her too. Though we’ve got along pretty well so far, these last few days gave me an idea of her wisdom and amazing ways of dealing with so many common situations. When my son was having a series of of non-stop hiccups, we called up my home very concerned. At that time she had gone to our home for lunch, along with my mom, and it was just the two of us in the hospital. We called up home and she said ‘shake the child’s arms a bit’ and Vijetha just followed that cryptic instruction, and amazingly enough the hiccups stopped
Maybe a coincidence but she’s full of countless ideas like this which usually work, maybe the result of trial and error.
When I left my son at home, I was really glad to see what a peaceful environment he was in. I was seeing an amazingly serene, soft spoken, affectionate side of his granny and when I left this afternoon, I was really content he’s in good hands! 8)
This post is truly inspirational: The Gift Of Life.

Hearty Congratulations to Vijeta and Sanjaya. The little man is absolutely PRECIOUS, Vijeta, you look amazingly relaxed. May the almighty shower his grace on all three of you. He will enhance peace and joy in your family.

Thanks preethi! Well, children are God 🙂 and our gratitude implicitly includes the source of all the myriad manifestations! The poem makes more sense every time I read it again 🙂
Thank you Udianna (that’s an understatement). Vijetha simply walked into the labor room, and though she had a tough time there, she was pretty cool about it at the end of it, smiling and relaxed as you’ve rightly observed.
More details in another detailed post based as an email written to a friend, currently being edited to post it here.
Congrats to Vijetha and you! Am waiting for the ‘baby’ posts 🙂
Sanjay, congratulations to you and Vijetha! Wishing you many many sleepless nights and sleepy days ahead 🙂
thanks Sandesh! Gopal, yeah I’m seeing what you mean but am already used to the sleepless nights thanks to occasional late night blogging 😉
🙂 CONGRATULATIONS to the Sanjay Family 🙂
Hey Sanjay,
What wonderful news, congratulations on your new arrive and the next step in your family. I hope both mother and baby are very well. The photo’s seem to show it…
Here’s a poem a friend sent me about the arrival of his new baby a few years back.
When a baby enters this world,
into your life
A baby can make you forget your
worries and strife.
It really doesn’t matter whether
it’s a girl or a boy
A baby will melt your heart and bring you joy!
So shower a baby with love,
every single day.
Show a baby you truly care-
there’s so many ways.
For with a blink of an eye, time
will fly out the door-
and your precious baby, won’t
be a baby anymore!!
Enjoy your new arrival…
Cheers,
Chris
Congratulations Sanjay 🙂
Congratulations 🙂 … I liked those quotes … loads to carry home from this blog! Wish you very happy times ahead 🙂
😛
Congratulations.
thanks so much Anitha, Rahul and Neela! Rahul, glad you like this blog! 🙂
Thats a lovely poem Chris, I’m truly honored, thank you very much! True my son definitely melts our heart and brings us joy! 🙂
Video of him just a few hours after he was born…
His more or less first toilet… must’ve been a major adventure for him… you’re well advised to turn down your PC volume 😉
When we went to get his vaccination… a thought came to mind… “one small prick for man is a giant stab for babykind” 🙂
Will upload a few more recent videos sometime this week.
Nice reading is Shruti’s post: Shots and thoughts – highly relevant to my own situation!
More recent video of him smiling – this time I was pretty sure it wasn’t just a facial excercise but a beautiful responsive smile – he seems to find his mother’s directions very entertaining…
Lovely lovely lovely Sanju!
God bless Abhinav 🙂
Congrats Sanjay on the birth of a baby girl. May she bring happiness and joy to your family 🙂
