trees

Happened to come across a nice post involving trees today and felt like putting up some pictures from a walk through forest/plantations in Chikmagalur (October 2003)

Naseeb, a Geneva native of 12 years and a Stanford and Oxford graduate, was traveling to a third world country once to “help”. His driver stopped the car in the middle of the journey. Naseeb asked why and the driver replied, “Sir, I’m listening to the trees breathe. It’s beautiful. Can you hear it?” Nope, he couldn’t. 🙂 But he realized that he was the one getting the “help”.

This is a majestic 300+ year old teak tree my (distant) cousin is admiring.

Wish it could tell its tale… what has it witnessed over the years, how did it manage to survive… 🙂

Wrt the original post, was wondering what the Geneva trip had been all about in the original post and came across an explanation – simple, yet fantastic talk.

Very nice snaps.. Reminded me of Nisar Ahmed’s …
“Nitya haridvarna vanada tega gandha tarugalli nityotsava, taayi nityotsava…”
