no man is an island?

Actually I’m just discovering why Leonid was so impressed with flickr.

There are countless other features like customizable APIs, tags, calendars, etc but one of the coolest things is the way it provides an upload tool that integrates with Windows Explorer – just right click and send to Flickr! Also integrates with WordPress and other blogging interfaces, I created this post initially from the flickr interface!

Unlike what the picture seems to suggest, I’m definitely not an isolated island and believe everybody is interconnected in some way or the other. But for a while it looks like I might be a bit like one, since my activity here for the next month or so will be reduced for a reason any reader here wouldn’t have to try too hard to guess… 8)

Yup. There are way too many features. But all of them are nicely “hidden” until needed. Check the support forums and the help section of the site. There’s another tonne of useful info. 🙂

    Sanjay, is that honnemaradu ?

Good guess Anitha, Honnemaradu looks somewhat similar. But the background trees are from a temperate country, and also note the ship – quite unlikely to be seen in the backwaters of Honnemaradu! That’s a lake in Germany in the Black Forest (where Black Forest cakes and cuckoo clocks came from) called Titisee. Water was really ice cold… but managed to wade upto there.

The use when needed feature was also part of several installation programmes but this same concept in open source is much neater!
