Now that all the hype of cricket players who are considered to be representing our country by many modern patriots has died down a little bit, maybe readers are in a bit more receptive mode to one of the many true heros of our country (without any ads 😉 )

Particularly note this comment by Chandrasekhar, whom I’m guessing is probably UG’s friend in Bangalore, whose house he lived with while he was here…
UG is often referred as “the GURU in reverse”
His implicit teaching is revealed when the word GURU is reversed and read aloud.Comment by K.Chandrasekhar ” March 28, 2007 @ 6:44 am
At first it didn’t make sense at all – after all what kind of abstract nonsense does “urug” supposed to mean, and I just forgot about it. Suddenly a couple of days later when I wasn’t even bothered about it, it just struck me as not a word but individual letters and made tremendous sense! And of course, there had never been any doubt about it. Because if all that UG says is about himself, then he’d have been just another character – either interesting or eccentric depending on one’s inclination or receptivity.
But his words are really important, because they’re not talking about just himself – its also about ME.
His biggest influence on me is that I find tremendous encouragement from him in reducing the level of hypocrisy with which I live. Tearing off all my masks and trying to be more genuine, though unknowingly I keep on making up new ones for myself or changing the shape of one mask to the other, conning myself into assuming I’ve gotten rid of it!
If you liked any of his quotes, and only if they really made any significant difference to your life, it would be great if you could share them here.
